Deliverables: 3 dimensional static and animated posts
At my current design agency, two of my colleagues initiated an Instagram challenge based on the #36daysoftype to keep the creative flow going. The challenge invited designers, illustrators, and graphic artists to express their particular interpretations of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. I am always looking to refine my 3D skills and train my mind conceptually within a time limit, so I took the challenge. One render per day for 36 days.
Daily Process
I sketched out the letter in the morning, using my reference images as a model. During the day I decided the best way to execute the letter with the tools in Cinema 4d. When starting the renders, I already knew the best tools to execute the model. Depending on the complexity of the models, some took between 2 to 5 hours to create, not counting the render time for animations; those potentially taking two additional hours.
